ITB Berlin: Prof. Dr. Hamid Doost Mohammadian Speaker at expert forum for tourism, sustainability and research

In march 2019 Prof. Dr. Hamid Doost Mohammadian was part of a team of experts, who talked about tourism, sustainability and research at ITB Berlin, the world largest exhibition international tourism. Several professors of FHM University discussed different topics concerning actual challenges in hotel an tourism management. Prof. Dr. Doost Mohammadian talked about ‘’International Cross Cultural Dimensions and Sustainability in International Tourism and Hotel Management (case: Iran and Germany) challenges and solutions’’. He focused on intercultural dimensions in the international tourism and hotel management of Germany and Iran, their economic, political and cultural challenges as well as their solutions.

For example, he explained the challenges like low sustainability, lack of vocational training, infrastructure, financial matters, lack of foreign investment, sanctions and cultural differences.

He described the potential advantages of tourism and nature in Iran; according to National Geography report in 2016, Iran was of the best place for global tourism. As a solution, Prof. Dr. Doost Mohammadian has introduced a 3D model for these challenges.

At the end of his case Iran, he focused one of the most important challenges: the lack of educational infrastructure and cultural factors then because of the negotiation between FHM and Industrial Management Institute (IMI). He introduced Industrial Management Institute (IMI) from Iran, which is the best professional business school in Iran to solve this challenge by establishing professional-vocational training in a cooperation with FHM German Institute of SME for Iran in Germany (F-GISI) in different provinces, SMEs and industrial parks in Iran.
